You will stay for one night at the Vienna House Easy Berlin, five nights at the Ibis Warzawa Stare Miasto, two nights at the Hotel Zatoka in Gdansk, before returning to Berlin for one night at the Vienna House Easy Berlin or similar. 

Overnight stays will be in city-style hotels in the Netherlands.

We travel to Berlin where Soviet forces defeated the German Army in 1945, seeing the site of Hitler’s Bunker and looking at the iconic battle for the Reichstag building. We then continue to our overnight hotel in Berlin.

<p><br/>Departing Berlin, we visit the Seelow Heights – the last major battlefield of the Second World War in Europe. Here, we see where the last remnants of the German Army tried to stop the Russians in 1945. <br/></p><p><br/>We then continue to our hotel in Warsaw for a five-night stay.<br/></p>

Today we look at the Warsaw Uprising of August 1944, when the people rose up against the German-occupying forces. We visit the Warsaw Uprising Museum and see the memorials.

We examine the early battles for Poland in 1939 and see the battlefield at Sochaczew and the Battle of the Bzura River, visiting the museum, memorials and cemetery. Later, we explore the Polish War Museum in Warsaw.

Today we examine the Holocaust in Poland, seeing the site of the Palmiry Massacre before visiting Treblinka, one of many infamous German Concentration Camps built in occupied-Poland. Here we see the memorials and the Visitor’s Centre.

We travel to Lublin and visit the site of the Lublin Ghetto and the Majdanek Concentration Camp.

Location: Gdańsk

This morning, we depart Warsaw and travel to Gdansk to look at the opening shots of the WW2 here in September 1939, seeing the battlefield, memorial and the new Gdansk War Museum. We then continue to our hotel in Gdansk for two nights.

Location: Wolf's Lair

The bomb plot against Hitler in July 1944 was a turning point in WW2, and today we travel across Poland to the infamous Wolf’s Lair, Hitler’s battle headquarters on the Eastern Front, where Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg made the attempt on Hitler’s Life. Here we see the ruins of this vast complex.

Leaving Gdansk, we travel to Poznan and visit the battlefield here, which was the scene of heavy fighting in 1945. We then continue to Berlin for an overnight stay.

Before departing Berlin, we visit the Treptower Park Soviet Memorial and War Cemetery before travelling to the Netherlands for an overnight stay.
