Today, enjoy a full-English breakfast before being transferred to central Oxford for a guided walking tour with a local guide. We will see the historic landmarks and beautiful universities and grounds. Afterwards, enjoy some free time to get lunch before transferring back to the hotel. Now it is competition time, guess the weight of the chef’s Christmas cake to win a prize. Next, enjoy a warm glass of mulled wine as you partake in a Christmas carol singalong. This evening, enjoy a three-course dinner.

After breakfast, we head to the picturesque village of Burford, often described as the 'Gateway to the Cotswolds'. You'll have free time to admire its medieval bridge and handsome Tudor and Georgian frontages. <br/>Next we're going to Blenheim Palace, an impressive country house situated on the outskirts of the picturesque town of Woodstock. A fine example of Baroque architecture, it is the home of the 12th Duke of Marlborough and his family and was the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. You are free to go inside the palace and explore the state rooms at leisure, and outside there are more than 2,000 acres of landscaped parkland and formal gardens to discover, and a choice of cafés to get spot of lunch here if you wish. <br/>At Christmas, Blenheim Palace is transformed into an even more magical place where fairy-tale meets fantasy. Each year a story is exquisitely brought to life, with each room decorated to depict a different scene. <br/>This evening we'll gather at the hotel and enjoy dinner together.

On Christmas Eve, after a guided walking tour of Oxford, you can participate in a competition to guess the weight of the chef's Christmas cake. There will also be a Christmas carol singalong with a warm glass of mulled wine.

‘Holiday of a lifetime’ would be an overstatement but nevertheless, the few days together proved, as had my previous experiences, to offer a relaxed and friendly time, so helpful to a solo traveller. I would plan on repeating this type of holiday next year.

Overall a lovely holiday. Excellent tour manager. Right amount of guests in order to meet and talk to most people. Christmas Day was super starting with a nice breakfast, a brisk walk and enjoyable Christmas dinner. Boxing Day at Blenheim palace was a nice end to the festive break.
